Overview / 概要

The 88 Plus Alpha sub-project of the Sagishima Data Project is the documentation effort behind the island's miniature Ohenro pilgrimage. For the cultural and experiential account of the pilgrimage itself, see The 88+α Ohenro; this page covers the research and cataloguing.

佐木島データ・プロジェクトのサブプロジェクトである88+αは、島のミニチュア版御遍路を記録する取り組みである。御遍路そのものの文化的・体験的な記述については88+α 御遍路を参照。このページは調査と目録づくりを扱う。

What we know / わかっていること

  • The sub-project is documenting each alcove (hokora) with its history, current location, and condition. このサブプロジェクトは、各祠（ほこら）を記録し、その来歴、現在の所在、状態を残している。
  • Because the alcoves have been moved repeatedly over the years, the work now also means documenting where each hokora has moved from and to, reconstructing the drift between the numbered sequence and the actual geography. 祠は長年にわたって何度も移されてきたため、この作業は今や各祠がどこからどこへ移されたかを記録することでもあり、番号順と実際の地理との間のずれを再構成している。
