Bibliography / 出典一覧¶
The master source list for the Sagishima wiki. Pages cite by key (the bold short name); add the key to a page's sources: frontmatter and reference it inline.
Standing rule: cite PRIMARY sources only. A primary source is the original record: a note.com post, a thered.school page, a primary RDS document, the film, the journal article. Do not cite Claude-generated syntheses (the Sagishima Compendium, audit-folder READMEs, the audit
.mdmirrors of website content). Those may be linked as "related / see also," but never appear in a## Sourcesblock. If a fact's origin is unknown, say so and flag it for verification rather than citing a synthesis. See/memory/feedback_cite_primary_not_secondary.md.

Local history books (Sagishima)¶
Note on these two (decision, 2026-06-04). Both books are themselves compilations that quote deeper primaries (三原市史, 芸藩通志, 豊田郡誌, 藤井家文書, 国郡志 survey documents, school anniversary volumes, prefectural shrine registers). Per Xavaar's instruction, because the deeper originals are not practically obtainable, these books are cited as primary for this wiki; where the book names the deeper source, that source is noted in the citation (e.g. "双鷺洲 p.80 → 三原市史"). This is a scoped exception to the standing cite-primary-not-secondary rule. See
/memory/feedback_cite_primary_not_secondary.md.
さぎしま讃歌(Sagishima Sanka, "Hymn to Sagishima"): a photo-history of Sagishima and Kosagishima by Yamashita Hiromi (山下博巳), subtitle 今は見られないさぎしまの風景; ~323 photographs (Nishihara Michio 西原通夫 and many contributors); colophon 1985, corrected 2012-01-27 (Heisei 24, the 1985-vs-2012 relationship unconfirmed); printed by Kure Seihan Printing Co. (呉精版印刷), Kure City. Bilingual EN/JA; the English is the book's own translation (prose reliable, proper nouns NOT). Cite by page, e.g. "さぎしま讃歌 p.16". Draws on (trace facts here where named): 三原市史, 豊田郡誌, the Mukōda Elementary centennial materials, the Sagiura Junior High 50th-anniversary magazine, 因島除虫菊の歴史, Shirasu Shunzō's "Sagishima and Sports" lecture, and Miyamoto Tsuneichi's 私の日本地図 (さぎしま讃歌 p.195). Ingested 2026-06-04.双鷺洲(Sōroshū): a Japanese-only historical compendium of Sagishima by Yamashita Hiromi (山下博巳), Jan 2015 (Heisei 27), Kure Seihan Printing; successor to a same-titled newsletter the Sagi Island Development Center ran 1996-2000. Edo-and-earlier cadastral/census records, temple/shrine and school history, district histories. Classical Japanese with transcription/OCR artifacts; many proper-noun readings TENTATIVE (native/historian review pending). Cite by page and the deeper primary it quotes, e.g. "双鷺洲 p.80 → 三原市史". Draws on (trace facts here where named): 芸藩通志, 豊田郡誌, 三原市史, 鷺浦村郷土誌, the 藤井家文書「佐木島古事備忘録」, Shirasu Shunzō's 安楽寺乃由来, 広島県地名大辞典, 広島県塩業史, Fukui Manchi's 磨崖和霊石地蔵 study, and the school closure-memorial magazines (双鷺洲 p.269, 参考文献). - Japanese Wikipedia, 佐木島:
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/佐木島. Drawing on official data: 面積 8.72 km², 周囲 18.2 km, high point Taiheizan 267.5 m; population 596 / 380 households / aging 71.08% (2023-03-31); 1956-09-30 merger into Mihara as 鷺浦町; agriculture-dominated (citrus, melons, watermelons, Chinese chives), no established fishing tradition; Triathlon since 1990, 33rd edition 2024 final; neighboring 小佐木島. A tertiary source: it confirms the official figures (resolving the area question) but trace to the underlying census/municipal data where it matters.
Living / social sources (cannot be archived; login-walled)¶
These are first-person, regularly-updated island accounts. They cannot be fetched or mirrored into this wiki (Instagram requires login), but they are pointers worth following for current island life.

SECONDARY syntheses (DO NOT CITE)¶
These are useful navigational documents but are downstream syntheses (several Claude-generated). Link them as "related," never as a source.
- Sagishima Compendium:
../Sagishima_Compendium.md(+.docx). The long-form companion; itself sourced to the items above. Trace to its primaries instead. - Audit
.mdmirrors and READMEs: e.g.../../Audit_RDS/05_Output_and_Impact/Sagishima_Data_Project.md,../../Audit_RDS/01_People_and_Personnel/RDS_People_Research_Findings.md, audit-folderREADME.mdfiles. Cite the thered.school page or note.com post they summarize.
How to add a source¶
- Confirm it is primary. If it is a synthesis, find what it drew from and cite that instead.
- Give it a short bold key and a stable locator (post ID, URL, file path, archive ID).
- Reference the key from page
sources:frontmatter and inline at the claim. - If you cannot find the primary, write "not yet traced to a primary; flagged for verification" rather than citing a synthesis.
