What Sagishima is / 佐木島とは¶
An island in the Seto Naikai (瀬戸内海, the Seto Inland Sea), part of Mihara City (三原市), Hiroshima Prefecture (広島県). It is reached by ferry from Mihara Port or from Onomichi (尾道); the standard studio approach is the midday ferry from Onomichi, which arrives Sunoue Port a little over twenty minutes later. An aging, contracting community on land that once fed itself through boat-building, family farms, and fisheries; the ground on which the Foundation stands.
瀬戸内海に浮かぶ島で、広島県（広島県）三原市（三原市）に属する。三原港または尾道（尾道）からフェリーで渡る。スタジオの標準的な行き方は尾道発の昼のフェリーで、20分あまりで須ノ上港に着く。かつては造船、家族経営の農業、漁業によって自らを養っていた土地に営まれる、高齢化し縮小しつつある地域社会であり、財団が立つ大地である。

Why this matters to the Foundation / なぜ重要か¶
The Theory of Change names attendance at the 6:30am Sunoue Radio Taiso (ラジオ体操) as the single best proxy for whether RDS is integrated with the island rather than merely happening to be on it (External Goal C). Knowing the place is the precondition for that integration: the work itself becomes thin if it floats on the surface of a place we have not bothered to understand.
Theory of Change は、レッドドットスクールが単にたまたま島の上に存在しているのではなく島に溶け込めているかを測る最良の単一の指標として、朝6時30分の須ノ上のラジオ体操への参加を挙げている（外部目標C）。その溶け込みの前提となるのが、この場所を知ることである。あえて理解しようとしなかった場所の表面に浮いているだけなら、仕事そのものが薄っぺらになってしまう。

Much of this wiki's premodern and place history rests on two compiled local histories by Yamashita Hiromi (山下博巳): さぎしま讃歌 (a 1985/2012 photo-history) and 双鷺洲 (a 2015 compendium). Where a page cites one of these for a historical fact, it is quoting that book's own deeper primary, so trace the fact to the deeper source where the page names it. Both books, their publication details, and the deeper primaries they draw on are catalogued in the Bibliography.
このウィキの近代以前と土地の歴史の多くは、山下博巳が地元で編んだ二つの郷土史、『さぎしま讃歌』（1985年／2012年の写真史）と『双鷺洲』（2015年の集成）に拠っている。各ページがこれらを歴史的事実の典拠として引く場合、それは各書がさらに引く一次資料の孫引きであり、ページが名を挙げる、より深い出典まで遡って辿ること。両書の刊行情報と、各書が依拠する深層の一次資料は文献一覧に整理してある。
